Ongoing Website Support

A good part of my work is ongoing. Several of the case studies on my work page — Focus LCDs, Tekto Knives, Zibby Media, Brightlink AV and ERA — are monthly retainer clients: they send a request, I look at it, and it gets handled without a long onboarding conversation every time.

That is usually cheaper and calmer than hiring a full-time developer or finding someone new every time something breaks.

01 / Fit

Who I usually help

  1. 01Businesses without an in-house developer
  2. 02Ecommerce stores that need regular changes during the year
  3. 03Teams that want one person who already knows their site
  4. 04Companies that need updates and security handled on a schedule

02 / Problems

What usually brings people here

  1. 01Nobody is responsible for updates, backups or security on the site
  2. 02Small requests sit in a queue for weeks
  3. 03Every new issue means explaining the whole site to a new developer
  4. 04Seasonal campaigns need new sections or landing pages quickly
  5. 05Tracking and analytics quietly stop reporting correctly

03 / Scope

What I can do

  1. 01Scheduled WordPress core, theme and plugin updates with backups and a rollback path
  2. 02Shopify theme maintenance and safe theme updates
  3. 03Troubleshooting whatever comes up, from layout bugs to failed orders
  4. 04Security review: users, permissions, outdated software, login protection
  5. 05New sections, templates and features as your marketing needs change
  6. 06Ecommerce support around launches, promotions and catalog changes
  7. 07Performance monitoring so slowdowns get caught early
  8. 08Analytics and tracking checks, including Google Analytics and Tag Manager setups
  9. 09Direct access to me, not a ticket queue

04 / Process

A direct, careful process

  1. 01

    Start with a review

I document the current state of the site so we both know what we are maintaining.

  2. 02

    Agree on a rhythm

Monthly maintenance, a block of development hours, or as-needed work — whatever matches how often you actually need changes.

  3. 03

    Work through requests

You email me, I tell you what is involved, and it gets done.

  4. 04

    Keep records

You get a clear account of what was changed and when.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Some clients use a monthly arrangement, others send work as it comes up.

What happens if something breaks urgently?

Email me and I will look at it. I do not advertise a guaranteed response window I have not agreed with you in advance.

Can you work with our marketing agency?

Yes. I regularly implement work that comes from a designer or marketing team.
